The Colorado Biostatistics Consortium (CBC) is a unit in the Department of Biostatistics and Informatics in the Colorado School of Public Heath.
The CBC facilitates biostatistics collaboration with researchers at the University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus. Because of institutional financial constraints, the CBC has adopted a cost-recovery system to support this collaboration.
New methods for obtaining biostatistics support: There are 2 options for obtaining biostatistics support. Select the option below or in the menu to your right for more information and instructions.
Fee-for-Service: Short-term projects can be supported at a rate of $100 per hour of biostatistics time. For qualified projects, CCTSI subsidies may apply to reduce the investigator's out-of-pocket expense to $25 per hour for up to 20 hours of biostatistics effort. To be considered, please register your project.
Collaboration Agreement: Long-term collaboration can be funded at salary costs (%FTE) plus a computational support fee. In lieu of a long-term %FTE arrangement, investigators may continue to pay fee-for-service at $100 per hour, although CCTSI subsidies will not apply after 20 hours of biostatistician effort. For departments or divisions with a number of investigators, a monthly or quarterly "retainer" may be negotiated against which hours of effort for designated PIs will be deducted.
The business model for biostatistics collaboration is designed to recover the real costs for providing an ongoing biostatistics shared resource at the Anschutz Medical Campus.
We welcome your comments on the business model, which can be logged into this REDCap feedback survey.
